Xander is a fast-paced player known for his remarkable speed, often outpacing defenders down the wing. His grit allows him to win possession and initiate counter-attacks. He is adept at delivering precise crosses, showcasing great passing and playmaking skills. His friendly demeanor and good sportsmanship are as commendable as his on-field prowess.
Backstory
Xander’s football journey started with his move to Surrey from Canada in 2019. Never having played organised football before, he began his inaugural season in 2022/23. With passion and hard work, Xander took his first season head-on. Playing a year above his age with Raynes Park Vale’s u11 while also in the New Malden Little League.
His relentless pursuit for improvement, coupled with his natural athleticism and mental fortitude, saw him making significant strides in his personal development. As his understanding of the game grows, so does his technical prowess and his ability to adapt to varying positions on the field.
2023-24 Season
In the 23-24 season Xander is showcasing his talent at AFC Kingston u11 in the Epsom & Ewell Youth League, playing as their right winger. Concurrently, he is making waves at Corinthian Casuals u11 in the Surrey Youth League. He started as a winger but now serves as the team’s striker. His roles in these teams are a testament to his versatility and the trust placed in him to perform in various attacking capacities. Alongside this he is playing for the u11 first team at school, floating in multiple positions.
14/10/23 – Xander’s school team won the cup at Caterham’s School Football Tournament
1/10/23 – Corinthians start Xander in striker; scores in the first 5 minutes and carries on to have two assists
2022-23 Season
Xander closed out his inaugural season in the spring. While the RPV were knocked out of the semi-finals, the team held their heads high. Despite a rough season with several games called off due to weather, the overall performance was strong and Xander finished his time with RPV in good standing.
